Understanding the differences between these personality types will help you improve your own life and the way you interact with others.

On the way to reaching our financial goals, we are bound to cross paths with many people. We suggest first getting to know their personality type, by applying lessons from this article.

Many of us think that being an introvert means being shy, whereas extroverts are life of the party. This is not exactly correct. According to the article, extroverts are different from introverts in the way they “recharge their batteries”.

Introverts find interacting with large groups of people exhausting and find solace in spending time alone with their thoughts.

Extraverts, on the other hand, prefer to spend time surrounded by people and ideas, and time alone generally bores them.

What is interesting, very few of us will find ourselves on either extreme of the scale. Most of us fall right in the middle, or slightly skewing toward one or the other, possessing both, introvert and extravert qualities.

In order to become successful in life we need to understand how to view and interact with all personality types.

Here is a list of best practices while caring for introverts:

  1. Respect their need for privacy

  2. Never embarrass them in public

  3. Let them first observe in new situations

  4. Give them time to think. Don’t demand instant answers

  5. Don’t interrupt them

  6. Give them advance notice of expected changes in their life

  7. Give them 15-minute warning to finish what they are doing

  8. Reprimand them privately

  9. Teach them new skills privately

  10. Enable them to find one best friend who has similar interest and abilities

  11. Don’t push them to make lots of friends

  12. Respect their introversion. Don’t try to remake them into extraverts

When dealing with extraverts, remember these guidelines:

  1. Respect their independence

  2. Compliment them in the company of others

  3. Accept and encourage their enthusiasm

  4. Allow them to explore and talk things out

  5. Thoughtfully surprise them

  6. Understand when they are busy

  7. Let them dive right in

  8. Offer them options

  9. Make physical and verbal gestures of affection

  10. Let them shine
